Welcome!Great Response to the Bishop’s Challenge Thank you!! to all the churches in the district who responded to the challenge issued by Bishop Hopkins for each local church to give $100 per member of Annual Conference in support of the Bishop’s 3Cs Initiative (churches, classroom, clinics). A total of $59,149 was given by the Annual Conference in response to this challenge. The Tuscarawas District of the East Ohio Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church was created in 2005. Though young, we have a defined mission to encourage, serve and communicate with the local church leaders of our 83 congregations. The Tuscarawas District is about the 83 local congregations. The function of the local church, as defined in our church policy, is “to help people to accept and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to live their daily lives in light of their relationship with God.” The Tuscarawas District is committed to its mission to assist local church leaders make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ. Once again, our church policy defines the local church as the place that “provides the most significant arena through which disciple-making occurs.” This website is a tool to encourage, serve and communicate.
